What is a landing page?
Ask yourself this question, and then ask some of your friends. Some really interesting responses would come your way, more common ones are ‘a page the user lands on’, ‘it’s an alternate to the homepage’, ‘the output page of a search’.
Technically, a landing page is created specifically as an extension to an online advertisement for users to click through to and get more information on the advertisement. The landing page is also used as a customized page to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaign based on a click-through rate.

Well, so far we have been discussing an approach for marketers to reach out to their target audience. But what about the reverse… How can I, the user and a service/product seeker find better results, more refined and specific to what I need. Below mentioned are some techniques to refine the search results:
- Precise Phrase Search: Try using double quotes for your search phrase (“”). By doing so, you would essentially instruct Google to search for the exact phrase within the quotes. For example, searching for Magnon International yields 143,000 results on Google, whereas “Magnon International” gives 2,590 results that have Magnon International written together.
- Site Search: In case there is a specific site you would like to search, instruct Google by using [‘keyphrase’ site:‘name of site’]. The results would display all the places where the ‘keyphrase’ is mentioned in the website. Try this for an example: outsourcing to India site:magnoninternational.com. (more…)
